Saint Paul, Minnesota – House Minority Leader Paul Thissen made a motion on the House floor to move the Minnesota Vikings stadium bill forward today by referring the bill to the House Taxes committee. Republicans tabled the motion, preventing the stadium bill from moving forward.
State Rep. Paul Thissen released the following statement:
“In recent days there has been a lot of finger pointing on the Vikings stadium and not a lot of action. We made this motion today to move the stadium forward so that we can give it a serious chance instead of simply giving up and casting blame.
Unfortunately, Republicans voted against the motion. As a result, the stadium bill remains stalled. This confirms Republicans have not been serious about a stadium, only serious about blaming Democrats to compensate for their failure to show real leadership."
