20 < 386 Statement from Minority Leader Thissen on House GOP constitutional amendment distractions
The GOP has 20 days left to pass an honest, balanced budget into law that solves our most pressing state problem – the budget deficit. They have 386 days to get constitutional amendments on the ballot. Holding hearings on constitutional amendments this week is the greatest example of misplaced GOP priorities Minnesotans have seen this year.
There are 6 committee hearings on constitutional amendments scheduled this week in the Minnesota House of Representatives and only 4 budget conference committee hearings scheduled. The GOP is focused on the budget like a 5-year-old is focused on reading at recess. They’re not.
