2020 CAUCUS
To the Editor:
Thank you so much for your editorial about the 2020 Caucus. Our state is changing rapidly, and fifteen years from now it will look very different. As you point out, the budget choices that we make this session will determine what that Minnesota of the future will look like. It is not enough to look at the state budget’s effects two or four years from now. We in the Legislature need to establish a policy of looking at the long-term impacts of our budget actions. We can disagree about what the right choices are, but all of our discussions should begin by considering whether our policies will create the kind of state we want to have many years from now, for us and for our children.
