The House of Representatives Health and Human Services Committee will hold a hearing on Monday, December 17, in Benson to discuss rural health care issues.
"Changes in health care have affected nearly every Minnesotan, but the concerns and issues vary throughout different regions of our state," said Paul Thissen, who is Chair of the Health and Human Services Policy Committee. "We will bring valuable information from these hearings back to St. Paul as we discuss needed health care reforms at the legislature next session."
At the hearing, rural health care experts will discuss rural health care needs, such as health care access and workforce issues. Local providers and consumers will also testify.
"The folks testifying at these hearings work in the health care industry everyday," said Thissen. "It's important we make their experiences and voices part of our discussion about health care reform."
