For over thirty years, the Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program has provided hundreds of high school students throughout the state the opportunity to experience first-hand our state government in action.
For one week, chosen high school students will participate in the legislative process. They will meet individually with state representatives to discuss the issues that matter most to them, assist members during the legislative sessions, participate in a mock committee session that will inspire them to think critically about the issues facing our state and meet with constitutional officers, members of the judiciary, lobbyists and members of the media.
The Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program is open to all Minnesota high school students in their junior year. Program participants are selected in the fall of each year based on a formal process, which includes an application, faculty recommendation and an essay. We would strongly encourage any interested students to take advantage of this great opportunity. You can apply by contacting your school, or downloading an application at http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/edprog/over2p.htm. The deadline to apply is December 15, 2005. For more information, please contact the House Educational Programs Office at 651-296-1298.
