ST. PAUL – State Representative Denny McNamara (R-Hastings) announces that one of the state’s leading energy officials will visit Hastings in September to discuss clean energy opportunities for the community.
Bill Glahn, who is the Director of the Office of Energy Security, will speak to the Hastings Rotary on Thursday, September 17th, from 7:30 – 8:30 AM at the Green Mill Restaurant.
“This visit will give business and community leaders a chance to learn about clean energy,” McNamara said. “Bill Glahn is uniquely positioned to help communities better understand opportunities available in the developing green economy, and I’m sure he’ll give an interesting presentation.”
McNamara said that once the meeting ends, Glahn and members of the Rotary will tour a hydrokinetic turbine along the Mississippi River in Hastings, which has been billed as the nation’s first federally-licensed hydrokinetic power project.
