Hi everyone,
I hope your summer’s going well. Hard to believe, but Rivertown Days are almost here. This year’s festivities will be exciting once again, as many great events will be taking place around Hastings over several days. For a complete listing, visit the Hastings Chamber of Commerce website at www.hastingsmn.org and click on the “Rivertown Days” icon.
This year’s parade will take place at 12:00 Noon on Sunday. It will run from 4th & Pleasant to Wilson Park. I will be taking part as well,
as our group will be number 41 in the lineup and will be playing “McNamara’s Band” on our stereo system. I look forward to seeing you there!
I received word this morning that Senator Al Franken’s staff will be visiting Hastings on July 16. Because they do not have an office set up in Minnesota yet, they are traveling around the state holding office hours so that constituents can greet them. They’ll be visiting the Hastings City Hall from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Area hunters should also take note that many DNR lottery drawings for special hunting opportunities - like the archery deer hunting lottery at Camp Ripley - are fast approaching. Check out the “Hunting License Lottery” section at the DNR’s website for more information. Here’s the link:

If you’re interested in information regarding any of our hunting seasons, application deadlines, or the expanded Minnesota elk hunt, visit: www.dnr.state.mn.us/hunting/seasons.html.
Hope to see you at Rivertown Days this weekend, and please keep in touch.
Denny
