NEWS AND VIEWS WITH REP. DENNY McNAMARA

Hi everybody,

Just a quick note here to give an update on 2 items about the Hastings
Bridge.

1)MnDOT has announced that motorists will encounter delays on Monday
and Tuesday, Oct. 13 and 14, during an inspection of the Highway 61
bridge spanning the Mississippi River in Hastings.

During the inspection, traffic will be restricted to a single lane with
flaggers from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., both days. Motorists are advised to
drive carefully past the inspection vehicles or use alternate routes.
Inspection activities will be canceled in case of high winds or other
inclement weather.

2)Also, you are invited to attend the upcoming Public Information
Meeting for the Hastings Bridge Scoping Study. The meeting will be held
on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in the Hastings City Hall-Community Room
(101-4th Street East, Hastings) from 3:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m. Here,
you’ll be able to meet with Minnesota Department of Transportation
representatives to learn about and provide input on the four design
options for the Hwy. 61 Hastings Bridge Project. If you’re interested
in the future look of our bridge, I strongly encourage you to attend.
