Hi everybody,
Hope you are enjoying the break from the rainy weather. I wanted to mention two items about the Hastings bridge.
1) For those of you who are interested in the future of the Highway 61 Mississippi River bridge in Hastings, MnDOT is inviting you to learn about replacement plans at an open house.
The event will be held on Wednesday, June 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hastings City Hall, 101 4th Street East in Hastings. According to MnDOT, formal presentations will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
MnDOT says the public meeting will provide an opportunity for citizens to learn about future bridge plans and provide feedback regarding community visions for the bridge and surrounding area. Input received will assist in the development of guidance for evaluating potential solutions, including replacement bridge alternatives. Displays illustrating preliminary designs and plans will be available to assist in the discussion of project goals and objectives.
Remember, Mn/DOT has established the goal of getting the Hastings Bridge improvements under contract by June 1, 2010. If you are interested in this future project, I strongly encourage you to attend this open house on the 18th.
2) Remember the bridge will be closed to all traffic this coming weekend June 14-16 and the following weekend June 21-22, from 10 p.m. on Friday to 5:30 a.m. on Monday.
Talk to you soon,
Denny
