Hi everybody,
Great to visit with many of you as I have been out and about in the community recently. FYI, I will be in the Cottage Grove Halloween parade this Sat at 11am. It is a great event for our younger residents. As always keep in touch. The following is an update on the road work on Highways 61 and 95.
Good news regarding Highway 95; that road is once again open for business and many travelers have already noticed the improvements.
As for the concrete median barrier project along Highway 61 between the Hastings bridge and Highway 10 - I have more good news. The barrier is up and looking good and the cones are scheduled to be removed from the inner lanes in the next day or two. I talked to MnDOT recently, and a representative tells me all lanes of Highway 61 will be open to traffic at the latest by this Saturday October 27. Any minor remaining work, if necessary, will happen during off peak hours with temporary lane closures.
In both cases, the frequent rainfall caused the projects to be slowed. But despite these weather challenges, MnDOT was still able to get both jobs done before winter - great news for all of us who use these highways on a daily basis.
Talk to you soon,
Denny
