(St. Paul, Minnesota) — State Representative John Lesch and State Senator John Marty will host Minnesota Department of Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans at a town hall meeting on December 19 in St. Paul to discuss tax reform ideas with area residents. The meeting will begin with a short presentation about Minnesota’s tax system and will then open up for questions and discussion. Commissioner Frans will be interested in hearing St. Paul area residents’ input on:
What fair taxation means to them
What they look for in a good tax system
What can be done to simplify Minnesota’s tax system
The St. Paul town hall meeting is one of many stops Commissioner Frans is making to talk with Minnesota residents and gather tax reform ideas and input for Governor Mark Dayton. The meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to participate.
“It’s become clear that Minnesota is in need of comprehensive tax reform, and that reform will play a major role in the future of our state and economy,” said Rep. Lesch. “This is an excellent opportunity for area residents to offer their thoughts, ideas, and input on potential reform ideas. I strongly encourage folks to attend.”
