STATEMENT ON REDISTRICTING MAPS
ST. PAUL — Today, a five-judge panel unveiled its plan for redistricting Minnesota’s state Senate and House districts. The judicial panel redistricting maps are posted at the following website: http://www.gis.leg.mn/html/redistricting.html.
State Representative John Lesch (DFL – St. Paul) released the following statement on the new redistricting maps:
“Creating jobs and leaving a more prosperous Minnesota for our grandchildren are the issues that matter to Minnesotans in each legislative district, old or new. That has always been my priority and will be my continued focus going forward this legislative session.
“While the new district lines will not go into effect until 2013, Minnesotans do have an interest in learning about their new lines. I will work hard to provide the people I serve with information and resources so they can understand how the new lines may affect them before the coming election.
“I encourage any constituents with questions about the new district lines to contact me and I can share more information with you."
