DAVID DILL NAMED TO HEAD IRON RANGE DELEGATION AT THE CAPITOL
Rep. David Dill, a second term legislator from Crane Lake, has been elected Chairman of the Iron Range Legislative Delegation. Dill will serve as Chair during the 2005-06 legislative sessions. The Delegation is made up of members of both the House and the Senate. Its focus is on crafting and moving forward a legislative agenda that recognizes and addresses issues of the area's unique economy, stimulates economic development and ensures investment in our communities and our schools.
"Rep. Dill will do a great job as chair of the Iron Range Delegation," said Rep. Tony Sertich (DFL-Chisholm), outgoing Delegation chairman. "He is dedicated to creating good paying jobs and fighting to ensure fairness in our education system. Rep. Dill understands the core issues and values of our area; he will be a strong voice at the Capitol for the people of the Iron Range."
Rep. Dill will also continue to serve on three key House Committees – the Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee, the House Tax Committee and as vice-chair of the Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee.
"The people of Minnesota have clearly expressed that they expect cooperation between the parties at the Capitol in the spirit of getting things done," said Dill. "It is an uncommon opportunity to serve as a vice chair to a powerful finance committee as a member of the minority caucus. I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get the work done to benefit our district and our state as a whole."
