St. Paul, MN – In the face of a partial government shutdown, State Representative David Dill (DFL-Crane Lake) voted seven times in eight days to suspend the rules of the House and take up various proposals to continue funding government operations for short periods, allowing for continued negotiations on the core issues of education, healthcare and transportation.
Before and after the shutdown Rep. Dill continued to vote to put Minnesotans back to work. In each instance, the motions failed to gain support. The votes taken by Rep. Dill were on bills offered by both Democrats and Republicans, most of which were dubbed "lights on, keep people at work in Minnesota."
