St. Paul, MN – David Dill of Crane Lake was officially sworn in as the District 6A State Representative as the 85th Legislative Session convened on January 3rd at the State Capitol. Dill is beginning his third term as State Representative.
“It is an honor to once again represent the citizens of District 6A at the Capitol," Dill said. “I would like to thank the voters for extending me this opportunity, and I will continue to work hard on behalf of the issues that matter most to our region."
Because of his long-time advocacy for outdoor recreation issues, sustainable use of Minnesota’s forests and his concern for the environment, Dill has been named Chair of the Game, Fish and Forestry Committee. He has also been appointed to serve on the Environment and Natural Resources Finance, Environment Policy, Rules and Legislative Administration and Taxes Committees.
"With our extensive land, water and wildlife resources, sustainable uses is the key to the economic and lifestyle future of our district," said Dill. " My involvement on these critical committees will help me better protect these interests, not just for our benefit, but for every Minnesotan who comes into our district to enjoy our lakes, woods and streams."
As a member of the new DFL majority, Dill is looking forward to passing other legislation that will improve school funding, improve transportation, and increase access and affordability to healthcare and lower property taxes. He plans to use his extensive experience in a bipartisan fashion to build a better and stronger future for Minnesota.
"We have some big challenges ahead of us," said Dill. "I am hopeful we can reach bipartisan support on our priorities.
