Rep. Mike Beard Named Chair of Transportation Committee
ST. PAUL – State Representative Mike Beard (R-Shakopee) was named Chair of the House Transportation Policy and Finance Committee. He and fellow committee members will be responsible for developing the budget and setting policy direction for transportation and infrastructure.
“While we face budget challenges, it is also an opportunity to prioritize and reform the way our government does business,” said Beard. “Our citizens deserve quality roads and transportation infrastructure, and they also deserve better results from state government.”
Beard and the new Republican majority are committed to bringing quality job growth back to Minnesota and responsibility back to government. Rep. Beard will use his legislative experience and business background to run a fair, open and accessible committee focused on innovation and cost-efficiency.
