St. Paul, MN – State Representative Mike Beard (R – Shakopee, Prior Lake) joined Governor Tim Pawlenty, MnDOT officials and other legislators at a press conference today near the Highway 169/I-494 intersection. The troubled intersection was one of 283 projects that will be part of MnDOT’s 2010 construction program. The total cost of the program is $1.3 billion, including $150 million for the intersection.
“The Highway 169/I-494 intersection has been a source of trouble for citizens of the neighboring communities for a long time, including folks in Shakopee and Prior Lake,” said Beard. “Everyone has worked diligently toward a solution and to find the funding for this much needed project. It will ease the traffic problems in the area and boost economic development.”
