Beard Earns Guardian of Small Business Award
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota’s largest small-business group, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, is pleased to announce that Representative Mike Beard, R-Shakopee, has earned the “Guardian of Small Business Award” for the 2007-08 biennium.
“Rep. Beard is a strong supporter of small business at the Capitol,” said Mike Hickey, State Director for NFIB/MN.
“Rep. Beard understands the vital role small businesses play in our state’s economy and realizes how many jobs are created by small businesses each year,” Hickey said. “He has made many votes in support of small business, including voting against a new 9-percent top income-tax hike that would eliminate jobs. Small business has a real friend in Rep. Beard and we are happy to announce that he has earned the ‘Guardian of Small Business Award.’”
