National Night Out is this Tuesday!!
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the annual National Night Out neighborhood event. This is the 25th anniversary of the crime prevention event involving more than 35 million people nationwide. As in past years, I will be riding with area police officers as they visit events throughout our communities.
The purpose of National Night Out is for neighbors to get to know each other better and build relationships within their community. Shakopee events start at 5 p.m., Prior Lake at 6. National Night Out also gives law enforcement a chance to talk with people, hear their concerns and improve crime prevention activities involving the community.
National Night Out activities are free and open to everyone. If you are involved in planning your neighborhood’s activities, thank you! Your efforts are making the community safer. If your neighborhood doesn’t have an event organized yet, it’s not too late! I encourage everyone to participate in this great national event, and I hope to see many of you!
