For those of you who filled out my legislative survey, here are the final results. I will note that 13,000 surveys were sent out in local newspapers. This poll is in no way scientific and is merely a snapshot of opinion of those who responded. It is intended to provide a general sense of the feeling of the district 35A electorate at this time.
1. Do you support continuing state aid to bolster the state's ethanol and biodiesel industries?
Yes 51.95% No 48.05%
2. Do you support limiting overall state spending growth every two years to the rate of inflation plus population growth?
Yes 80.07% No 19.93%
3. Do you prefer increasing taxes for all citizens, or increasing fees that affect a few?
11.16% a) Increasing taxes for all.
15.29% b) Increasing some fees.
20.49% c) I think there is no difference between a tax and a fee.
53.06% d) With a budget surplus we should not be increasing taxes or fees.
4. Should the children of illegal immigrants receive in-state tuition rates at state colleges and universities?
