ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota State Fair is just around the corner. Since 1859, Minnesotans have come from every corner of the state to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of The Great Minnesota Get Together. This year Rep. Joe Atkins will again be on hand at the Fair answering constituent questions, taking suggestions for legislation, and spending time with people from the community.
"The Minnesota State Fair is one our great Minnesota traditions,” said Rep. Atkins. “I wouldn’t miss it for anything – and I know a lot of my constituents wouldn’t either.”
Rep. Atkins will be at the State Fair on Thursday, August 23 from 10 am to noon at the Minnesota House of Representatives booth located in the Education Building on Cosgrove Street.
"In between cheese curds and pronto pups, I encourage all of my constituents to stop by and visit with me about your legislative questions and concerns,” said Atkins. “And if you have any leftovers, don’t be shy about bringing those along.”
Atkins is serving his fifth term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. He is the Lead DFL member on the House Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee and also sits on the House Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee.
