(ST. PAUL) — Today, Governor Dayton signed HF 2784/SF 2392. The new law includes a bipartisan compromise that allows beer to be sold at TCF Bank Stadium. The deal, if accepted by the University of Minnesota Board of Regents, is estimated to bring in an additional $1.5-$2 million to the University each year.
Rep. Joe Atkins (DFL – Inver Grove Heights) was the chief author of the bill in the House and led the bill through the process. Atkins, a 1988 U of M graduate, released the following statement:
“I’m very pleased and thankful that Governor Dayton signed this bill. It has been a long and winding path to this resolution, but I’m glad it’s done and that we finally have a compromise that works for everyone. “
