CONGRATULATIONS, MR. ROBERTS!
To the editor:
The Inver Grove Heights/South St. Paul Rotary Club honored Don Roberts with its highest service award on Friday, April 20th.
I have known, respected and worked with Mr. Roberts since I had him as a math teacher at Simley High School in 10th grade.
An outstanding teacher and coach, Don retired in 1987 and then got really busy, chairing the IGH B.E.S.T. Foundation's Golf Tournament that has raised over $500,000 for scholarships at Simley, helping at his church, making daily visits to shut-ins and others in need, and remaining active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Everyone I know who knows Don — former students, athletes, colleagues, and friends — will tell you they are a better person because of him.
Congratulations, Mr. Roberts, and thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
