ST. PAUL – In recognition of Minnesota's Sesquicentennial Celebration, State Representative Joe Atkins (DFL – Inver Grove Heights/South Saint Paul) is organizing a Minnesota History Trivia Contest for all constituents of House District 39B. At stake: free pizza from Rep. Atkins himself as well as an assortment of unique Minnesota Sesquicentennial memorabilia provided by the Minnesota Historical Society.
The contest is divided into two categories – one for students, and one for adults. All participants will be required to complete their entries on the same challenging set of fifteen multiple-choice questions covering topics of local and Minnesota history. Student winners – one from each school in Rep. Atkins's district – will get pizza for their class, served up by Joe himself. The winning adult entry will receive pizza for the winner and three friends. In case of a tie, a random drawing of the winning entries will be held.
Entry forms and more information about Rep. Atkins' Sesquicentennial Trivia Contest can be found on Joe's website at www.JoeAtkins.com. Hints will be posted on the website each week throughout the duration of the contest. Hard copies of the entry form can be retrieved by contacting Rep. Atkins' office by phone at (651) 296-4192 or by email at rep.joe.atkins@house.mn.
All entries must be received by Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Entries can be mailed to Joe Atkins, 2463 78th Street East, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076, or emailed to rep.joe.atkins@house.mn.
