ST. PAUL - State Representative Joe Atkins recently welcomed the Reverend Jerry Storm, Director and Chaplain of Peace Community Counseling Center in Inver Grove Heights to the Minnesota House to serve as guest Chaplain. Rev. Storm gave the opening prayer on January 11, just before the House debated what would be the first bill passed this session.
"Reverend Storm gave an eloquent and meaningful prayer before we began our work on the session’s first bill," Atkins said. "It's an honor to have the Chaplain come from your hometown."
Atkins also noted that following Reverend Storm’s prayer, the session’s first bill passed 132-0. “After an outcome like that, we should really think about having him there every day," said Atkins.
Peace Community Counseling Center provides a number of counseling services to the community. They are located inside Peace Lutheran Church, at the corner of S. Robert Trail and Allen Way in Inver Grove Heights.
