Nursing students from Winona State visited the Capitol recently to discuss their concerns for the rising costs of college tuition and their fears about finding jobs in the future. Meeting with Rep. Gene Pelowski and other legislators, they spoke of their fears that unless the issue of inadequate health care funding is resolved, there simply may not be jobs available for them when they graduate. They told their legislators that mounting college tuition debts could combine with a lack of available positions to derail many people's desires to train for positions, such as nursing, that society has a demonstrated need for.
