PAYMAR RECOGNIZED FOR WORK TO COMBAT SEX TRAFFICKING
ST. PAUL – The Advocates for Human Rights and the Minnesota Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force recently awarded recognition to Rep. Michael Paymar (DFL-St. Paul) for his work to combat sex trafficking and for promoting protection of the victims and prosecution of the perpetrators.
"The Advocates for Human Rights and the Minnesota Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force are important partners in the work we are doing to address and prevent the problem of sex trafficking," Paymar said. "I'm honored that they chose to recognize me for this award."
Paymar, a long-time advocate for victim’s rights and stronger anti-sex trafficking penalties in the Legislature, was the chief author of the sex trafficking bill which included more protections for victims of sex trafficking and give prosecutors a greater ability to prosecute traffickers.
