ST. PAUL - State Representative Michael Paymar (DFL-St. Paul) is congratulating Highland Park Senior High School for being included in Newsweek Magazine's top 1000 public high schools in the nation for 2006. Highland Park was ranked number 687.
"We've all known for years how hard Highland Park students, teachers, staff, and parents work," Paymar said. "We should all be proud of the national attention brought to Highland Park Senior."
Paymar said this achievement highlights the potential of Saint Paul Public Schools.
"Despite budget cuts over the last few years, both Highland Park and Como Park High Schools made this national list," Paymar added. "If we make a significant investment in education on the state level, our students can achieve even more."
The full listing, which includes schools from across the country is available online at www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12532678/site/newsweek/.
