Change in majorities means increased activity

Dear Neighbor:

There is much happening in St. Paul as we transition to a Republican-led House and Senate after we gained the majority in both bodies Tuesday.

We will begin by welcoming new House members and saluting several retiring ones at an event Friday night. Then the new House will meet for the first time Saturday in order to name House leaders (Speaker, Majority Leader, etc.) Saturday. It's an interesting time, but not one for celebrating in light of the monumental challenges we face in balancing the budget, helping people get back to work, and turning around the economy in general.

I am honored to remain a voice for greater Minnesota during this process and am grateful for your support. I will continue working for sustainable common-sense solutions to uphold our priorities and us on the right track. Your input is extremely valuable to me and welcome your continued correspondence as we prepare for the 2011 legislative session and get down to the business at hand.

Sincerely,
Bud
