LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Town hall meetings scheduled; legislative survey available

To the editor-

I continue seeking your input as we approach the 2010 legislative session, which begins Feb. 4 in St. Paul. I have scheduled a series of town hall meetings throughout the area this Saturday so we can talk about the issues and also have made a legislative survey available.

The town hall meetings will take place at local cafes and I will be joined by Sen. Dan Skogen. Here’s the schedule:

Saturday, Jan. 16:
8 a.m. - 9 a.m. Shoreline Café, Battle Lake
9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Farmhouse Café, Underwood
11 a.m. - noon Dalton Café, Dalton
1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Café 116, Fergus Falls
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Riverside Café, Pelican Rapids

I also invite local citizens to partake in my survey. It covers the top issues for the upcoming session, ranging from improving our economy to erasing our state’s budget deficit, reducing health care costs, and proposals to build a Vikings football stadium.

The easiest ways to complete the survey are by logging onto either www.house.mn/10A or www.fergusfallsjournal. A paper version of my survey will be appearing as an ad in the Daily Journal this Sunday, and will run in other area newspapers throughout the week to follow.

Thank you in advance for your participation in the survey and I will let you know how the results shake out when we tabulate the responses next month. Meantime, I hope to see you at the town hall meetings Saturday.

Sincerely,
State Rep. Bud Nornes
