LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Congratulations to Abbie Westby for earning ag. scholarship

To the editor:

Congratulations are in order for Abbie Westby, who recently earned a $1,500 scholarship to study agricultural education at the University of Minnesota-Crookston.

Wesby, a senior at Pelican Rapids High School, received the award from the Minnesota Education Leadership Council, which has issued more than $170,000 in scholarships to agriculture education students over the last eight years.

It is good to see area students earn scholarships and this is a sign of a bright future for Abbie. She deserves to be commended for excelling in agriculture, a field of study that is so vital to rural Minnesota and beyond.
