State Representative Mary Murphy issued the following statement on the Governor's State of the State address:
"The Governor gave an inspiring State of the State address this evening that was hopeful and upbeat. He shared his priorities and emphasized the importance of education and higher education to prepare our workforce for the jobs of the future.
I strongly support Governor Dayton’s innovative approaches to getting 168,000 unemployed Minnesotans back to work including the FastTRAC initiative that integrates basic skills education with career specific post-secondary training and the need for a bonding bill that invests in public infrastructure. I am advocating for quick passage of bonding bill to put tens of thousands of Minnesotans back to work by the summer construction season.
Governor Dayton outlined a plan that will position Minnesota for long-term economic success and build a better Minnesota for our children and grandchildren. I am and always have been committed to working with others to do what is necessary for a better future.
The Governor sent a meaningful message about cooperation tonight."
