SYNTHETIC DRUGS ISSUE DESERVES ATTENTION AT THE CAPITOL

Last year I authored a bill to get at the dangerous synthetic drugs that are now being sold. Many people are dying from them. The Republican leadership killed almost all of my bills last year. This week they had a hearing, which got a lot of press, on a bill which the head of the agency drafting it said was almost identical to mine. This is an important issue. On high profile bills like this, their leadership often doesn't want to let Democrats get credit, but I just care about getting it passed because it is a growing problem.
