Rep. Kahn Awarded Tekne Award by Minnesota High Tech Association
The Minnesota High Tech Association has awarded Rep. Phyllis Kahn (DFL—Minneapolis) a 2012 Tekne Award for Public Service in recognition of her leading role in advancing and prioritizing technology and innovation within state government.
“Receiving this award is truly an honor,” said Rep. Kahn. “Encouraging the growth of innovative technologies and ideas is an essential component of moving our state forward.”
The Tekne Awards honor leaders and companies who advocate and implement innovative solutions to meet Minnesota’s ever-changing needs. The Minnesota High Tech Association was particularly impressed with Rep. Kahn’s leadership and work in consolidating information technology services in Minnesota.
“Our state is lucky to have an organization like the Minnesota High Tech Association,” said Rep. Kahn. “Recognizing and providing a boost to those entities interested in promoting innovation and new technologies, makes their service to our state invaluable. I look forward to continuing my work with the Minnesota High Tech Association.”
The Minnesota High Tech Association represents more than 350 technologically based companies and organizations from across the state, including members that represent some of the world’s leading corporations. Their objective is to encourage innovation and technology as a means to fuel Minnesota’s economy.
Rep. Kahn will be awarded her 2012 Tekne Award at a ceremony taking place Thursday, November 1 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
