State Representatives Tom Huntley and Erin Murphy respond to the news this morning that Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) is rejecting the “Coordinated Care Organization" contract arrived at in the GAMC compromise bill:
Rep. Erin Murphy: “The concerns raised by the Hennepin County Medical Center Board regarding the GAMC compromise are troubling, though not surprising. We share their concerns, and will continue to pursue a sustainable and affordable solution to provide care for the poorest and sickest Minnesotans.”
Rep. Tom Huntley: “The Medical Assistance Expansion proposal (HF3713) offers one final opportunity for a solution that works. This plan will restore adequate funding for every hospital statewide, maximize over $1 billion in federal funding, help contain rising health care costs, and most important, provide necessary and life-sustaining health care for GAMC recipients. Early Medicaid expansion is the smart alternative to the enacted GAMC bill.”
