State Rep. Tom Huntley, Chair of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, reacts to the GOP resolution urging the Attorney General to fight national health care reform:

“At at time of record deficits and unemployment, GOP senators are proposing a plan that would cost Minnesota $3 billion.

This national health care legislation is the beginning of real payment reform that will reduce the cost of health care for every Minnesotan. It will fix GAMC, cut taxes, and eliminate both the sick tax and MCHA, reducing insurance costs for Minnesotan businesses by another 2%. It’s simple – we cannot afford to turn our backs on this path to health care recovery.

I can’t help but wonder if our Republican Governor supports the effort being outlined today by Senate Republicans. At the same time he decries federal stimulus money, he uses those same dollars for 1/3 of his budget fix."
