STATEMENT ON REDISTRICTING
ST. PAUL — Today, a five-judge panel unveiled its plan for redistricting Minnesota’s state Senate and House districts. The judicial panel redistricting maps are posted at the following website: http://www.gis.leg.mn/html/redistricting.html.
State Representative Debra Hilstrom (DFL – Brooklyn Center) released the following statement on the new redistricting maps:
“Minnesotans in each legislative district care about job creation, improving schools for our kids, and leaving a more prosperous Minnesota for the generations that follow. Those are my priorities and I will continue to focus on jobs and the economy this legislative session.
“While the new district lines will not go into effect until 2013, Minnesotans do have an interest in learning about their new lines. I will work to provide information and resources so they can understand how the new district lines may affect them before the coming election.
“If you have questions about the new district lines, please contact me and I can share more information with you."
