MINNESOTA JUDICIARY RECOGNIZES REPRESENTATIVE HILSTROM
The Minnesota Judicial Branch has recognized State Representative Debra Hilstrom (DFL-Brooklyn Center) for her work on behalf of the judiciary during the 2009 legislative session.
“Maintaining public safety and the rule of law is the number one charge of state government, and the work we do in the Legislature to support that charge is among our most important," said Rep. Hilstrom. “It’s an honor to be recognized for those efforts.”
Hilstrom, who chairs the House Public Safety Policy and Oversight Committee, is considered one of the Legislature’s leading public safety authorities. In singling out Hilstrom for the recognition, Chief Justice Eric J. Magnuson cited her for her “…continuing contributions to the improvement of the administration of justice; and for leadership and untiring efforts to ensure meaningful access to judicial services for the citizens of the state of Minnesota.”
Hilstrom was one of only five state lawmakers to receive the recognition.
