HAUSMAN RECEIVES CONSERVATION AWARDS FOR LEGISLATIVE WORK

ST. PAUL-State Representative Alice Hausman (DFL-St. Paul) is being honored by two different conservation organizations for her work during the last legislative session. Both the Minnesota Wildlife Management Area Coalition and Audubon Minnesota presented her with awards. The groups both commended Hausman for her work in helping the state acquire and preserve habitat land.

"I appreciate the work these groups do. Their continued support will be vital in the next legislative session as we work to preserve our state's natural resources for future generations," Hausman said.

Audubon Minnesota is the local chapter of the National Audubon Society who's mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats. The Minnesota Wildlife Management Area Coalition is made up of conservation groups throughout the state, committed to preserving wildlife habitat and wetlands.

Hausman is the lead Democrat on the House Capital Investment Committee, which appropriates and approves the bonding bill - making her the primary advocate for the non-game programs designed to buy and restore bird habitat.
