REP. DAVIDS REACTS TO LAWSON SOFTWARE SALE
ST. PAUL – Following news that St. Paul based company Lawson Software had been purchased by Golden Gate Capital, State Representative Greg Davids (R-Preston), chair of the Minnesota House Taxes Committee, said strong efforts will be made to help those currently employed by the company.
“With 700 jobs potentially at risk through this takeover, we are going to do everything we can to keep all of these people employed,” Davids said.
Davids said there is plenty of speculation that the new company will downsize Lawson’s current staff.
Davids said a recent report showed Lawson was St. Paul's 12th-largest private employer. He said it would be critical to reach out to officials with Golden Gate Capital and work with them to ensure that they will protect as many jobs as possible at the St. Paul location.
