Rep. Carlson Celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Day
In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Day, retired teacher State Representative Lyndon Carlson reflected on one of his favorite teachers:
“In all my years in school, I was fortunate to have outstanding teachers who were able to foster in me a sense of curiosity about the world and a desire to always learn more.
My high school Social Studies teacher, Mr. Severson, was particularly effective at sparking my interest. It was through him that I developed a passion for history and political science that led me to where I am today. The enthusiasm he conveyed through his lessons and student interactions were undoubtedly a catalyst for my desire to become a Social Studies teacher and eventually a State Representative. For that, I thank him."
