State Representative Jay McNamar will be hosting several town hall meetings on February 21 in the communities of Elbow Lake, Breckenridge, Wheaton, Ortonville, and Morris. The meeting in Elbow Lake will be conducted from 8:00-9:00am at the Elbow Lake Community Building in the Goetzinger Room at 119 Central Ave, Elbow Lake, MN 56531.
“My decision on any bill starts with what I’m hearing from people in my own community,” said Rep. McNamar. “It’s important to hear from area residents before the legislature starts up again on February 25th. Living Wage Jobs Chair to Serve on Panel Discussion of Minimum Wage
Morris, Minnesota – Tomorrow, February 6th, students from the University of Minnesota, Morris will host a conversation about the minimum wage for the Morris campus and community in the Humanities Fine Arts building. Representatives Ryan Winkler, Chair of the Select Committee on Living Wage Jobs, and Jay McNamar, along with a panel of University faculty and staff, will present and moderate a discussion on the implications of the minimum wage in Minnesota and the Morris community.
Community members, regardless of their viewpoints on the minimum wage, are invited to attend.
“Those who can afford lobbyists have already weighed in on these issues in St. Paul, and we know where they stand,” said Rep. Ryan Winkler (DFL-Golden Valley). “Our Committee is about workers in Minnesota, and we want to hear directly from workers in the Morris area about their jobs—what’s working and what’s not.”
