State Representative Paul Anderson says agriculture is too important to Minnesota to have politicians playing games with it.
On Monday, the House Rules Committee rejected a GOP amendment to reinstate the House Agriculture Finance Committee. Scrapped by the new majority at the start of this session, the Ag Finance Committee considered all ag-related appropriations. Under the new DFL committee structure, ag bills will get their final test in the less-friendly Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee, chaired by a Minneapolis State Representative.
That chair, State Representative Jean Wagenius, has voted against numerous ag initiatives during her legislative career.
