House Television ServicesPhone: (651) 297-1338 Barry La Grave, Director Background The House Television Services Department was established in 1994 as a nonpartisan legislative office to provide televised access to the legislative process. House Television, in conjunction with Senate Media Services, produces live and taped coverage of House floor sessions and some committee hearings, and provides that programming to the public. Some services offered by the House Television Department are television broadcasts and computer delivery of live and taped proceedings of House floor session and committee meetings, pool feeds of legislative meetings to media outlets, and VHS dubs of House floor session and committee hearings. Through State Fair informational offerings we encourage public participation in the Minnesota Legislature. Facilities House Television has remotely-controlled cameras in the MN House Chamber and in three Committee rooms located in the State Office Building. Distribution Legislative broadcasts of House and Senate proceedings can be seen weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area on KTCI, Channel 17 beginning with the start of each Legislative Session. We provide our programming and deliver it via satellite to cable systems throughout Greater Minnesota. Daily broadcast schedules can be accessed through our House and Senate Television Coverage page.
