Overview

This bill deals with sales of event tickets over the internet by initial sellers and by resellers.  Resellers buy the tickets from the initial seller and then try to resell them at a higher price.  The bill applies to tickets for sporting events, theater performances, musical performances, and places of public entertainment or amusement of any kind.

Prohibition of early internet sales of event tickets at inflated prices.  (a) Requires an initial seller of event tickets over the internet to sell tickets under the control of the initial seller in the manner directed by the provider of the event or venue.  Prohibits the initial seller from diverting tickets to be sold in any other manner. 

(b) Prohibits a seller or reseller of event tickets over the internet from selling, reselling, or offering to sell or resell, event tickets before they are offered for sale as authorized by the provider of the event or venue.
