Chief Fiscal Analyst - Fiscal Analyst Department


Full-time position providing oversight of the policy and fiscal analysis needed for the state budget process in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Responsibilities include the management of the non-partisan Fiscal Analysis Department, providing quantitative and fiscal policy analysis to legislators, and primary fiscal support for the Ways and Means Committee.

Qualifications include a demonstrated ability to remain politically neutral, knowledge of state government fiscal operations, statistical analysis and the ability to direct the formulation, articulation and analysis of public finance policy issues from a legislative perspective. A basic understanding of the state budget and the ability to lead a self-directed work team is important.

Candidates must have a graduate degree or equivalent experience in finance, public affairs, economics or related field. Proven experience in dealing with Minnesota fiscal policy and analysis of economic forecasts required. Strong oral and written communication and human relations skills a must. Legislative experience is desirable.

Entry salary range: $4,615.59 - $5,538.73 semi-monthly commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.
