Communications Specialist - DFL Caucus (Temporary Position)

Temporary full-time Communications Specialist position with the DFL Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Responsible for assisting DFL members of the Minnesota House of Representatives with communications and media activities including: writing, editing, and sending email newsletters and press releases; drafting news columns and letters to the editor; updating members’ house.mn.gov webpages; publishing content on members’ official social media accounts; clipping video of members’ remarks during committee hearings and floor sessions; monitoring mainstream news coverage of the Legislature, and helping with other special projects as assigned.

Ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal skills. PC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as research and organizational skills a must. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines under pressure. BA/BS desired, or similar work experience.

Entry salary: $30.55 per hour, commensurate with experience.
