Administrative Aides - Chief Clerk's Office (Temporary Position)


Two (2) temporary nonpartisan positions in the Front Office of the Chief Clerk’s Office of the Minnesota House of Representatives for the 2024 legislative session. Begin in February for approximately three months.

Responsibilities may include a variety of duties including: delivery of documents in Capitol complex and maintenance of files and records related thereto; providing assistance with copying of documents for distribution on House floor; providing assistance in daily operation of public office; responding to member, staff and public requests for information relating to bill status, legislative documents and various House records. Willingness to be flexible and provide assistance as needed within the Chief Clerk’s Office.

Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills and work well with people. Proven ability to remain objective, nonpartisan, confidential and professional regarding all assigned legislative duties and interactions with all members and staff. Ability to work effectively as a team member and to contribute to a pleasant, efficient internal work environment in the Chief Clerk’s Office.

Accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Ability to adapt quickly, meet tight deadlines and handle pressure well is essential. A good understanding of the legislative process is highly desirable. Must be a motivated self-starter who is able to work independently. Familiarity with MS Office applications and Outlook is necessary. Must be flexible and able to work long and irregular hours during legislative sessions and at certain other times.

Entry salary range: $20.13 - $24.15 per hour, commensurate with experience.
