MINUTES

Representative Lenczewski, Chair of Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 12:30, February 27 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Simonson moved HF507.

Representative Simonson moved the HF0507A2 amendment.

Simonson amended HF507 as follows:

Page 5, line 3, delete, "chapters 290 and 298", and insert "chapter 290"

Representative Simon presented HF507 (Simonson), as amended Tax Expenditure Advisory commission created, and review and sunset of tax expenditures provided for.

A quorum was present.

The motions prevailed. The HF0507A2 amendment and the oral amendment were adopted.

Paul Eger, MN Association of Realtors

HF507 as amended was laid over for possible inclusion to an Omnibus Tax bill.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF661

Representative Kahn presented HF661 (Kahn) Tax extended to cosmetic procedures.

The following individuals testified on HF661:

Mike Tedford, Otorhinologist
Maureen Heinz, MN Association for Aesthetic Safety
Susan Lawsing, Electrologist

HF661 was laid over for possible inclusion to an Omnibus Tax bill.

Representative Lillie moved HF674

Representative Lillie moved the A0674A3 amendment.

The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Lillie moved the H0674A1 amendment.

The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Lillie presented HF674 (Lillie) Income and corporate franchise tax subtraction added.

The following individuals testified on HF674:

Eric Lindseth, Lifetime Fitness
Chuck Runyon, Lifetime Fitness

HF674 was laid over for possible inclusion to an Omnibus Tax bill.

Representative Zellers moved HF719

Representative Howe presented HF719 (Howe) Sales and use tax exemptions modified to include some sales at events between established religious orders and affiliated institutions of higher education.

The following individuals testified on HF719:

Richard Adamson, St. John's University

HF719 was laid over for possible inclusion to an Omnibus Tax bill.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:12 pm.

    Agenda: HF677 Governor Mark Dayton's Tax Proposal.
    7 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans 7:30 p.m. Public testimony begins. Speakers should keep their comments to 2- 3 minutes per testifier. Convener will attempt to rotate testimony between advocates and opponents if possible.
