MINUTES

Representative Lenczewski, Chair of Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 12:30 pm February 13 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Simonson assumed the gavel at 12:34 pm.

A quorum was present.

Vice Chair Loeffler moved the minutes from February 12th.

The minutes were adopted.

Representative Schoen moved HF118 to the committee.

Troy Langlie of the Grant County Sheriff's office testified in favor of HF118.

Ann Finn of League of Minnesota Cities testified in favor of HF118.

HF118 was laid over for possible inclusion to the Taxes Omnibus bill. No further action was taken on the bill.

Representative Anzelc moved HF428 to the committee.

Representative Anzelc moved the H0428A1 amendment to the committee.

The H0428A1 amendment was adopted.

Marcus Bruning of the St. Louis County Regional Radio Board testified in favor of HF428.

Ryan Erdmann of the AMC testified in favor of HF428.

Joe Venne, Beltrami County Commissioner and President of AMC testified in favor of HF428.

HF428 was laid over for possible inclusion to the Taxes Omnibus bill. No further action was taken on the bill.

Representative Lesch moved HF469 to the committee.

Representative Lesch moved the H0469A1 amendment to the committee.

The H0469A1 amendment was adopted.

Representative Garofalo moved the H0469A2 amendment.

The H0469A2 amendment was withdrawn.

Keith Carlson of Minnesota Inter-County Association testified in favor of HF469.

HF469 was laid over for possible inclusion to the Taxes Omnibus bill. No further action was taken on the bill.

Representative Garofalo moved HF295 to the committee.

Representative Garofalo moved H0295A1 amendment to committee.

The H0295A1 amendment was adopted.

Keith Carlson of Minnesota Inter-County Association testified in favor of HF295.

HF295 was laid over for possible inclusion to the Taxes Omnibus bill. No further action was taken on the bill.

Representative Loon moved HF466 to the committee.

Representative Garofalo moved the H0466A2 amendment to the committee.

The H0466A2 amendment was adopted.

Joe Venne, President of AMC testified in favor of HF466.

Keith Carlson of Minnesota Inter-County Association testified in favor of HF466.

Beth Baumann, Mayor of South St. Paul testified in favor of HF466, HF295 and HF469.

Kelli Slavik, Mayor of Plymouth testified in favor of HF466, HF295 and HF469.

Cal Portner, City Administrator of Elk River, testified in favor of HF466, HF295 and HF469.

Gary Carlson of League of Minnesota Cities testified in favor of HF466, HF295, and HF469.

HF466 was laid over for possible inclusion the Taxes Omnibus bill. No further action was taken on the bill.

Representative Simonson referred HF174, 451, 476, 497 to the committee on Property and Local Tax Division.


The meeting was adjourned at 1:52 pm.
